Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?
Yes. GIDSS is a Canadian registered charity, regulated by the Canadian Revenue Agency. For every dollar you donate to our organization, you can get a tax receipt as per CRA rules.
What is the minimum amount I can donate?
There is no limit for a minimum or maximum. Whatever amount you feel comfortable with, you are most welcome.
Is your website secure for Debit/Credit card transactions?
Yes, because we use secure third-party payment processors/platforms. We receive donations through Canada Helps and PayPal, which are very secure platforms for donating and receiving money.
How is my donation used by GIDSS Food Bank?
Our services, and financial statements are very transparent. All information about our revenues and expenses for previous operating years can be accessed on the CRA website (Charity Directorate).
What different kinds of donations can I make?
We accept one-time and monthly donations from both Canada Helps and PayPal. We recommend splitting a large one-time donation into smaller monthly amounts.
